
Jenna Fixel is an Educational Strategy Research Assistant at Immersed Global where she supports the organization’s educational research, curriculum innovation, program development, and strategic learning initiatives. She has 10+ years experience as an educator in Mathematics, Visual Arts, and College Prep. She holds a Master’s in Comparative & Regional Studies of Democracy and Governance of Eastern Europe and Russia from American University, and earned her Bachelor’s at Baldwin Wallace University where she double majored in Political Science and International Studies and double minored in French Language and Russian History. Drawn to teaching through her work for Americorps, Jenna’s interest in education is through her strong belief in the value of service to others and the continued improvement of democratic societies through international exchange and cooperation.
Outside of Immersed Global, Jenna is a freelance independent college writing tutor and academic advisor. Her ultimate professional goal is to break into the field of international relations and education as a research analyst. She also has her own visual art studio called The Painted Cord Studio where she focuses on macrame and painting, and has been featured in galleries in Frederick, MD. In her downtime you can find Jenna with her husband at their local park taking turns throwing the ball for their dog Rupert.
